Create or import a design
Step 2 of 5 in Define credential designs and claims.
Create registers identity. alias is the stable handle inside the tenant. The binding carries the
format's primary identifier (vct, docType, or W3C type), credentialConfigurationId (the id
advertised in issuer metadata; optional at create, required before issuance) and the issuer it
belongs to. issuerDesignId links the issuer design. With vctHostingMode: HOSTED the platform serves
the VCT document at the tenant's own URI.
Read the response: it returns the design id, version and content hash, and those are what issuer
configuration uses. Import fetches an external definition (OID4VCI_CREDENTIAL_CONFIGURATION,
SD_JWT_VCT_METADATA, OCA_BUNDLE), stores a source snapshot and persists it as CACHED_EXTERNAL:
