The public URL is served from the tenant host root, never under an issuer instance path, and needs no token. It is the URL that appears in OID4VCI display metadata and SD-JWT VC type metadata:

The credential-design API has no asset delete. Deletion goes through the asset library and makes the public URL stop resolving for this tenant and namespace:

Deleting an asset that a live card still points at leaves holders with a broken image. Check the render variants and issuer designs that use the URI first.
